Letter from President of the Board
Thank you for your interest in Unitarian Universalist Metro Atlanta North, affectionately called UUMAN. We are excited about our search and about finding the best fit for our vibrant, diverse and thriving congregation.
We are a relatively young congregation, celebrating our 25th anniversary this January, but in our short tenure our membership has grown from our twenty-one founding members to nearly two hundred strong. We are dedicated to being a voice for our liberal religious community and we seek to develop relationships with congregations of different faiths in our area, and to support the needs of those in our wider community through our social justice work.
Guided by our Board of Trustees and supported by our interim minister, Reverend Cynthia Prescott, UUMAN provides a sanctuary for those looking for spiritual support and growth and, through our comprehensive MCY program, a home for families raising children. For those of all ages who are looking for active community engagement, our broad range of adult programming offers many choices.
We are extremely proud of our dedicated lay leadership. Because of their commitment and talents we can take pride in our beautiful grounds, our efficiently managed buildings, and the bounty of our table served to members and guests.
Through our worship committee we’ve set a standard for our Sunday worship services that ensures that visitors and members feel comfortable, welcomed and inspired. Our joyful, strong and varied music program, led by our music director, pianist and choir, enhances our Sunday services.
With the consistent hard work of our board, our lay leadership, members and friends, UUMAN has accomplished much in its first quarter century and, now, we are poised for our next period of growth and development. We are excited about our future and hope that you will consider us in your search for a new home.
With appreciation,
Anna Swafford
